Antique Gold And Enamel Mourning Ring

$2,000.00

An Antique Gold And Enamel Mourning Ring in 18ct yellow gold with black enamel, the enamel outer inscribed.

Mourning rings were made popular with the death of Prince Albert in 1861, when Queen Victoria had a ring made using his picture, initials and black enamel on gold. These rings soon became used to memorialise a loved one all over Europe- using a piece of hair, a photograph or initials.
